Let Worms Eat Your Garbage!
Missouri Botanical Garden Adult Class – Held at EarthWays Center
Transform kitchen and garden scraps into super-charged organic fertilizer in a quiet, convenient worm bin. Learn the low-maintenance basics of indoor vermicomposting (suitable for home, business or classroom) and worm bin biology. Registration fee of $42 ($38 for Missouri Botanical Garden members) includes materials for in-class worm bin construction. You'll leave ready to add worms and decompose.

Earth Day 'Around Town' Event –EarthWays Home Public Tour Days
Explore Missouri Botanical Garden's unique "green" house! This event is part of St. Louis Earth Day Around Town. Guided public tours begin on the hour at 11 a.m., Noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, April 16-17. General admission of $2 per person is free for Garden members, children 12 and under. More than 35 partnering organizations are proud to present the 2005 Earth Day Symposium –including Missouri Botanical Garden and its EarthWays Center senior staff. Presentations at the Garden – featuring national and regional experts - will focus on water resources and economic vitality in the Greater St. Louis; 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Register online at www.stlouisearthday.org.

Earth Share of Missouri Earth Day at Missouri Botanical Garden
Earth Share's Missouri chapter
contributes to the fiscal health of 34 environmental organizations in our state and 39 national organizations through workplace-giving campaigns. EarthWays Center joins other Earth Share members to celebrate Earth Day with displays and demonstrations in the Garden's Ridgway visitors' center from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Join us and learn about many ways to protect and promote our state's natural resources!

Do you know for sure your combustion appliances aren't leaking carbon monoxide? And how are your utility bills – interested in reducing what you pay (and use)? We'll explain how to obtain whole-house audits that can help make your home more comfortable, healthy, safe and efficient. You'll see how to test a home – using a blower door, a duct blaster, an infrared camera and more. Don't miss it! Your home is your biggest investment. Why not take care of it? Free.

Camp EarthWays
For children entering grades 4-6. Explore many ways your actions can make a difference in caring for the Earth. Enjoy solar cooking, composting with worms, papermaking and recycling, clean air activities and other kinds of energy saving fun – indoors and around the EarthWays Home pond and garden.
